Lovely. Just Lovely.
October 7, 2014
Many's the time I think that an armadillo could have made good photographs at a session because of the natural beauty and personality of a subject made it so easy. This was definitely one of those times. This one is beautiful inside and out. Her family came along to celebrate this milestone in her life (she's a senior) and I really liked being around them.
Family Keepsakes

I think I've figured out how to articulate the way I see myself as a photographer. I want to be the local country doctor of photographers. I want to take care of friends, neighbors, friends of friends and family. I want to take photos of babies, then take the senior pics of those same babies. You know? I'm sure it sounds crazy to some, but to me, it sounds just right.
I love this family and the fact that they look forward to a photoshoot with me instead of seeing it as a horrible chore. That means so much to me in terms of professional success. It really does.

This is a family farm, so the location and this tractor were important to capture. |

I couldn't resist going full-bore shooting into the sun. So pretty and dreamy. |
Family Friends
September 19, 2014
I've known this family forever I think. The husband since I was a little girl, and the wife since I was a teenager. I love seeing them together and working hard to get nice images of everyone. Of course the little ones present challenges, but I think we did a great job of capturing everyone. Special thanks to the Howard County Nature Conservancy for helping me out when there was a miscommunication about us being there. I love photographing there.
A Story of Friendship
I love these lovely images of three young ladies I'm lucky enough to call friends. It was a privilege to have the chance to capture the essence of their sweet relationship.

A Family at Brookside

I love this family because they have had me take many photos of them. It's wonderful to see their kids grow up. This session was special because we squeezed it in just before their oldest left for a summer term of college.
A Senior in Savage

I think this young lady is just lovely. She's smart, bookish, independent, has a great sense of humor and a bright future. I hope these photos show all the beauty that is in her.
Two Young Gentlemen

Sessions like this always make me glad I have the talent to at least photograph my closest family and friends. Even if this was all I ever did as a professional, I'd feel like I did good work. I love both these boys.
Collaboration
February 8, 2014
Collaboration is so important to me in each shoot, and this experience was especially fun. This amazing woman, Margaret Fisher, asked me to update her professional portrait. She's a gifted teacher, designer and friend, and I jumped at the chance. She was meticulous about telling me what she needed, which was so helpful. It was perfect. Here is what we came up with:
