A Favorite Family
August 31, 2017
I love it so when families call me time and time again for photos. This family is so much fun. Lots of love, lots of personality, and such sweetness between them. This shoot had the added element of extended family and I got to see even more of these strong relationships. I always remember why I do what I do when I meet a family like this.
And once again, Patuxent Branch Trail comes through as a versatile, easy location.
At the Edge of the Storm
July 29, 2017
For this session, I was asked to capture a very specific moment in the history of a family. It was a whirlwind evening. I drove 2 hours down to their house while they were driving home from a weekend away. I got there and the skies were ominous. The edge of a thunderstorm was overhead, so while the light was interesting, the rain and wind were an obstacle. We were literally racing the weather, so we had very little time and there was a sense of urgency. In addition, the circumstances themselves were delicate, so it was a challenge to get past the posing and logistics to that moment.
A Perfect Couple

Some things just go together, you know? Peanut butter and jelly, milk and cookies, Han and Chewie... and now, Jenn and Parker.
Senior Time at Fort McHenry
June 5, 2017
My friend wanted to photograph her son at Fort McHenry. It being a very popular National Monument, I thought it would be a complicated process to get a permit, but it turns out that it wasn't! I called and because it was going to be just me, my camera and the senior, no permit was needed. Cool!
A Dream Location
January 9, 2017
I have long wanted to shoot at the Patapsco Female Institute, and this year I got my chance, twice. This couple had an engagement session here in August, as well as their wedding reception in November. Both times, there was a lot of scope for imagination and interesting angles. I loved it.
